"Bonjour Debbie, Terry
We are loving it here, just what I imagined. The house is charming. We are very much enjoying the decor, with such an interesting collection of furniture, pictures, maps, posters, prints, ornaments and the abundance of crockery and glassware in the kitchen.
Thank you very much for the bottle of wine that Sarah gave us.
We found the river yesterday, and had a swim which was very refreshing. It is years since I swam in a river and was reminded how enjoyable it is. We then went on to a late lunch at Les Affenages and ate too much, carried away by their menu du jour. Many thanks for the recommendations and info. You have gone to a lot of trouble, but is a great reference for us.
We got back in time for the little market by the Mairie. People are very friendly.
We have enjoyed the roof patio, and watched the swallows.
You can rest assured, we feel very happy to have found your house, and so glad we have it for 4 weeks. I know the time will race away , but it is a lovely thought at this stage that we have so much time.

"Arrived very tired yesterday at 6pm. What a wonderful surprise! Finally, someone who knows how to decorate!!!!
Beds very comfy, kitchen cute and I like everything 'to hand'
Well, the most unexpected highlight for me was the hiking! A GR running right through town, I couldn't have dreamed of anything better (I'm a serious hiker). I would list on your website that a GR connecting Monze to Lagrasse, the 36 (alternate), goes right by the house. That's a major plus for a lot of people.
Ribaute, of course. The town, the kids very much enjoyed the school. Would come back in maybe late september, as it was simply too hot to enjoy that great terrace. Castles, markets in towns. Carcassonne is just way too touristy, the the 'new' part of town is lovely, great shopping, great market."

"Hi Debs and Terry.
Montlaur is everything we had hoped the house is gorgeous and the village beautiful. We have walked every morning and found new places to see. We have also taken a couple of bike rides which has been great fun. Today being Bastille day they had a BBQ in the village square wow what a treat it was just so special we just loved it. Mike and Sarah are amazing so helpful, nothing is a problem, they have made things so easy for us. We went to Lagrasse the other day and had a swim it was beautiful, also went to see Ribaute which looked fabulous hope to go there next week. We went to Minerve yesterday; it was amazing we really enjoyed it, such a sad story. We did laugh about - have we been on the terrace - I have to say we spend from about 4 each night up there, It is wonderful the swallows are just gorgeous and the views amazing. I have got to say that quite a few bottles of rose have been had up there!
Thank you for all you wonderful suggestions"

"Hello, Debbie and Terry,
Yes, our time in Montlaur has flown by and we've have had a great time! It's been lovely to unpack only once in 3 weeks.
Everyone whom we've met in Montlaur has been so welcoming and friendly. Sarah and Mike came for wine on the terrace one evening, and Bruce watched a couple of Euro Cup games with Mike. Sandra has been so sweet whenever we have seen her on the street. Even the widower who lives a couple of doors away handed me a head of lettuce from his garden in through the tiny kitchen window yesterday
So...thank you again for sharing your home with us. It's a sweet place."

I wanted to let you know that we are thoroughly enjoying your beautiful home here in Montlaur. It is a delight to be in a place where such thoughtfulness has gone into the decor, making it so charming and comfortable. You must love antiques and must have spent lots of time in brocante shops! It's been fun for us to re-connect with our friends in the area, and we appreciate having the opportunity to discover this little village.

The house is as you described, very French and charming.
We are finding your recommendations of places to visit etc very useful and we will add when we find other good things.
Thanks very much for the wine and thank you for providing such a lovely place."

"Hi Debbie, We wanted to say again how much we enjoyed our time in Montlaur and particularly staying in your lovely house - it was such a special time for our family and we will all remember and talk about it in years to come. We are of course very keen to return and are thinking about perhaps 2014 for a longer period if we can swing it."

I wanted to thank you for a wonderful time in your house in Montlaur. The kids made lots of friends and our stay was most memorable. Just wanted to thank you and say goodbye."

Yes, we've had a wonderful time here and I'm feeling quite sad today at the thought of leaving. We've done lots of sightseeing in the area (have seen 16 of the 20 Cathar sites on the Cathar passport, did a trip on the Little Yellow Train and done an overnight trip to Andorra among many other things), as well as relaxing, and it's been a fantastic 8 weeks.
Your house has been wonderful. I really feel at home here and it's been a great place to have after all our travelling around this year. Montlaur in the summer is also lovely, and we've been to 4 village meals, which has been great. The kids and I have also improved our French, and must make sure we keep going with it when we get home.
Anyway, thanks again for everything, and maybe we might be back sometime"
